My practice centers on the human figure—often solitary and spatially compressed—as a conduit for examining myth and mortality. I’m compelled by starkness and the compositional tension between body and edge, presence and containment, and the threshold between the material and the transcendental. Through these paintings, I investigate how icons and myths are appropriated, recontextualized, and used to sustain cultural narratives, heritage, and a fragile sense of permanence.
